We are Building on Faith

ECOmenical Build
The ECOmenical Build was dedicated on Oct. 29, 2008. Read about our 53rd Build for Marion Good & her daughter, Casandra.

Building a house is a lot of work and having your support and involvement is what makes this possible.

How your organization can get involved:

• donate your time, hard work and energy to help with construction
• make a meal or snack to help fuel the volunteers
• provide financial support to provide funding that hasn't been met
• pray for and support IVHFH and our volunteers

We would like to express our appreciation to each and every faith community who was involved in this build and to all of our past groups involved with ecumenical builds. Because of the love and dedication you've provided, Marion Good and her daughter Casandra have experienced something so remarkable: a house built on faith and love.

As always, a portion of the funds raised for this build will be tithed to Habitat International for home building efforts in developing nations.

Our Ministry:
Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry inclusive of all faiths and ethnicities. We believe that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety regardless of their religious preference or background.

Habitat is a partnership founded on common ground -- bridging theological differences by putting love into action. Habitat founder Millard Fuller explained,
 
"We may disagree on all sorts of other things... but we can agree on the idea of building homes with God's people in need, and in doing so using biblical economics: no profit and no interest."

Together we can make the dream of affordable housing a reality for families living in need. The ways your Faith Community can partner with Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity:

   •Give prayerful support
   •Identify families in need of housing
   •Find affordable building lots
   •Support our ReStore
   •Invite Habitat to speak to your community
   •Provide a meal(s) on-site during our Blitz Builds
   •Find volunteers for construction crews and committees
   •Participate in a fundraiser
   •Join our Church Relations Committee
