Why We Need You

Habitat relies on volunteers to build homes, staff our office, help with our events, and spread awareness of our mission in our community. Our Habitat affiliate simply cannot eliminate poverty housing in our area without you. Fortunately, our dedicated volunteer base has already constructed 50 homes, but we need more bodies to build 50 more.

At Habitat for Humanity there are many volunteer opportunities. All it takes is a desire to make a difference in the lives of families, a willingness to learn, and an ability to work with others. No matter what your skills, IVHFH will match you where you can best serve. We look forward to working with you soon.

Will You Join Us?

If you need to remove yourself from an event you have signed up for or if you clicked on the wrong date, you can modify your schedule. To do so, click on the event and push the “cancel” button.  This will take you through the necessary steps to cancel your registration.

As a grassroots nonprofit organization, Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity relies on the hard work and dedication of volunteers  to carry out our mission to help provide safe, simple, quality housing for low-income families in Johnson, Iowa, and Cedar counties.

**Please note, Habitat has officially changed the minimum age of those on site. Unless otherwise requested by staff all volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Those between 16 and 18 will not be allowed to use power tools, or work more than 6' in the air. They will be designated by wearing a red name tag.
